Hello Beautiful People,
Bubblingwithleganceandgrace.com had the opportunity to review a new faith-based documentary streaming now on Angel. He Calls Me Daughter is a deeply personal and emotionally powerful film that explores what it means to carry a father wound and what it takes to heal from it. We all want the love of our earthly father. When that love is not being received, we can reach out to our heavenly Father, who is always with us, no matter what we face in life.
How is your relationship with your earthly father?
Through raw storytelling and spiritual insight, the documentary reveals how unmet needs from an earthly father can shape identity, relationships, and self-worth. However, it also offers a path forward. One rooted in the love of a Heavenly Father who restores, redeems, and redefines what it means to be a daughter.
This is not just a story about pain. It is a story about healing, forgiveness, and identity.”

Many thanks to Angel for providing the He Calls Me Daughter documentary for this review. All opinions are my own.

I never had a relationship with my dad.
I thought the only way a man showed love was physically!
That’s what I learned from my dad. Father God was the only True Father who loved me for me! Prayers do work! Before my dad died, he gave his life to God, and finally admitted his sins! Through Jesus’ grace and mercy, my dad left me a loving letter admitting his guilt and asking for forgiveness! I forgave him a while ago, when I read God’s Word!
We are all sinners; not judges!
I don’t have any relationship with my father, sadly.
My father passed away in 2003. Before that I would go to his house everyday to help to get him dressed, food, pills and pay his (their bills) My mom was disabled too so I helped them both.
The relationship with my father was a good one, mutual respect and kindness.
I was my dads only daughter out of 4 kids. so of course I was a daddy’s girl. He sadly passed away in 2020. I held his hand til his last breathe.
I had a strained relationship with my dad, but God works things out.

My father passed in 2017. What a wonderful man. Even before he became a father, he helped out his parents and siblings. He spent time with each of his kids. To him family was everything. His greatest joy was to see his family be happy. One of my siblings had a very serious illness. He would go to the hospital and visit every day. We watched our favorite college football team play. His youngest granddaughter was 6 yrs old when he passed. It was heart rendering to see her walk after the funeral mass saying to her mother “Papa don’t leave”. He meant the world to us (family and friends).
My relationship with my dad wasn’t the best growing up.

My father passed away in 1988 back when I was 13 years old of cancer. I miss him every single day.
I had a close relationship with my dad and we did everything together when I was growing up. I have such fond memories from my childhood!
I guess you would say complicated.
