Spring is in the air, making me think of gardening and what flowers I would like to plant in the backyard. I don’t want it to get warm too quickly because when the tulips buds start to bloom, they will last a little longer. Spring is a time to refresh and reorganize your mind and look at what’s important in life. I often hear there’s never enough time, well I have found that I have to make the time. Hope you are doing well! It’s been cold and snowy here in the Show Me State. It hasn’t snowed like this or been this cold for this long in a while. My puppies needed little boots because the ground was so cold. I find the snow is peaceful and there is a calming effect with it. When I look out the window and I see the snow falling, it takes me back to my childhood. I would play and run around the yard with the doggies.
For most of the country, it’s been bitter cold and many people in Texas have been without power. I pray that everyone is warm and has power.

I pray that your week has been an excellent one so far. My hubby and I are preparing for Christmas. We have two trees up and decorated. We still have a couple more trees that still need to be brought in from the garage. And then there are also the nativity scenes, the Victorian village, and the items for the wall. We put a lot of time into decorating because we love the season so much. We don’t try to do it all in one day or one weekend. We take our time and enjoy the moment.
While we are scurrying through the house with an ornament in hand and sorting through the boxes of decorations, we will usually have some Christmas tunes playing in the background. Something upbeat and lively to get us in the right frame of mind to decorate. No sad or slow song here. I don’t need to be crying while I am figuring out the decoration theme for my Christmas trees.
On my playlist during this Christmas season is the new Lauren Daigle concert that recently aired on BYUtv. Lauren is best known for the powerful ballad, “You Say”, which held the number one spot on the Billboard Christian charts for more than 100 weeks. An amazing feat that has never been achieved prior to his happening in September. As a Louisiana native, you would expect that Lauren would have jazz and blues in her musical roots. In her Christmas special, Lauren pays homage to these roots with a New Orleans jazz concert with soulful spiritual hymns and upbeat modern-day classics. If you like jazz and Christmas tunes, this is the perfect concert for you.

I pray that you had a peaceful and joyful Thanksgiving holiday. Whether you were having dinner with your friends and family in person or talking with them on a Zoom call; or even a quiet day at home by yourself, we have so much to be thankful for. Even in 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic, I know if you take a moment to meditate, you will find several things. For me, I am thankful for a new puppy that came into our family over the weekend. We will share more about Lucca a little bit later on the blog. So stay tuned.
