Hello Beautiful People,
It’s been a full summer, and with temperatures still climbing into the upper 80s, it certainly still feels like summer here in the Midwest. It’s been a while since I’ve posted, as life and other priorities have kept me busy. But it feels so good to be back doing what I enjoy most: sharing a little bit of our lifestyle and garden with you.
I wanted to share a few photos from the garden my hubby and I have lovingly cultivated this summer. Our lantana plants have grown into beautiful, bush-like mounds, perhaps because we planted them in raised beds. Their lemon-scented blooms have become a favorite gathering spot for butterflies, drawn to the abundant nectar.
I had to share how happy my hubby and I are with all the beautiful flowers and vegetables our garden produced this summer season. Seeing everything flourish made all the planning, planting, watering, and weeding worth it. It’s been a joy watching the garden transform and come alive with color.
I also thought my Paraiso Tunic from Soft Surroundings was the perfect choice for these photos. With its vibrant colors and floral-inspired pattern, it seemed right at home among the blooms in our garden. Sometimes an outfit just captures the spirit of the season, and this one felt made to complement the colorful flowers surrounding us.
The morning glories have added a beautiful splash of color to our garden this year. One of the things I love most about them is how they respond to the weather. On hot summer days, their blooms open in the morning to greet the sun and then gently close by afternoon. When temperatures are cooler, the blossoms often remain open much longer, allowing us to enjoy their vibrant colors throughout most of the day.
The burning bush is turning a beautiful shade of red, and the leaves are starting to fall. It’s a reminder that another season is changing.
This week, I spotted just one hummingbird in the yard. Still, I’m keeping fresh nectar out for any late travelers passing through. I always like to make sure they have a welcoming stop on their journey south.
I hope you had a wonderful summer and that you enjoy a beautiful fall and winter season ahead.
