Happy New Year!
We are starting a new year, and I pray it will be filled with abundant blessings. Maybe 2024 did not turn out as you wanted or planned. But know that God is just and faithful. He will never leave you or forsake you. He is always there to comfort you and give you the encouragement to continue the journey through life. I am reminded of these verses in Lamentations;

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,
His mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
(Lamentations 3:22-23)

Knowing that God loves us so much and cares deeply about us is a wonderful thing. His grace is sufficient to sustain us through it all. No matter what comes our way, God gave us His Son Jesus for us.

One of the ways that our family does not lose hope in God’s blessings is to focus on the Christmas story for more than just the Christmas season. It is so easy to get caught up in the moment of the holidays, with gift-giving and social gatherings, that we fail to remember that the season is truly about the birth of Jesus. Without the birth of Jesus, we have no basis for our Christian faith. Learning who Jesus was as a man and knowing the context in which He lived has become an essential part of our spiritual growth. When we began reading the Christmas book by Bible scholar Rick Renner, our eyes were opened to the whole context of Jesus, His earthly family, and the area where He grew up.
