Evangel Christian Academy is known as a football powerhouse, winning fourteen state championships in twenty years, including one national championship in 1999. After a disappointing 2020 season that saw the team finish without a win, the school called on their former coach to bring the team back to its winning ways. Coach Denny Duron comes out of a 30-year retirement to lead the team back to its winning ways. The players are dedicated to Duron but under extreme pressure because there is so much riding on the team doing their best. Getting into the right college, parents wanting them to play better, keeping up with their grades, and knowing the school’s winning legacy are always on their minds. Coach Duron stands on faith in God, focusing on the players by ensuring they put God first. I don’t want to give everything away, but I will say it can be funny, profound, moving, and inspiring simultaneously.

Child sex trafficking is an evil stain on our society, and we need to help end it. The new movie SOUND OF FREEDOM opens our eyes to these heinous acts and shows how real and prevalent it is in our world today. Conservative statistics say that two million children are kidnapped or sold into this modern-day slavery yearly.
But how can we put an end to it?
The first thing is to see this film to understand this problem’s size. We also need to encourage others to see the film. As more people see the film and speak out about it, it will force this topic to be discussed publicly and not keep it a taboo issue. Another thing is to purchase a GOD’S CHILDREN ARE NOT FOR SALE T-shirt. When someone sees your T-shirt and asks about it, you can tell them that this problem must be addressed. As more people know about these crimes and are willing to speak out about them, it will force government agencies to take action to tighten and enforce laws for the people who commit them.
SOUND OF FREEDOM debuted in theaters on July 4th, a fitting date for children who need our help to regain their independence. On its first day in theaters, the film grossed $14.2 million, beating out the newest Indiana Jones movie. The film grossed over $45 million in the first week of release. People are saying YES to the film’s message. I am seeing countless interviews with Tim Ballard (the Homeland Security agent who worked to save the children), Angel Studios (the film’s distribution company), Jim Caviezel (who stars as Ballard), and Alejandro Monteverde (the film’s director). The momentum is building. Let’s keep it going!

This captivating movie chronicles the incredible true story of Tim Ballard, a special agent for the Department of Homeland Security in the Internet Crime Against Children Taskforce, working to track down pedophiles. Until the one day when Ballard realizes children are being kidnapped and sold as sex slaves for these pedophilic acts. The film emotionally hit me hard, and it was profoundly moving that we need to find a way to help stop sex trafficking. Parents, aunts, uncles, and godparents, you have to bring your older children, friends, small groups, churches, and more to see this movie which premieres in theaters on July 4th. Whether you have children or not, everyone must see this movie. Due to the nature of this film’s content, it contains some adult language and themes and is rated PG-13.
