9 Ways to Make Your Faith a Bigger Part of Your Daily Life

Those of us who have faith know just how important it is to carry it with us no matter what we are doing. However, sometimes daily life gets in the way, as it has a habit of doing, and thoughts about faith can sometimes take the back burner as a result.

If that sounds all too familiar to you and you want to make faith a more significant part of your daily life again, here are some excellent ways to make it happen:

Get Creative with Prayer
Let’s face it: if you’re just mumbling your morning prayers with the enthusiasm of someone reading the phone book, you’re doing it wrong. Prayer should be like your daily espresso shot for the soul. Mix it up! Sing your prayers, write them down in a journal, or turn your morning jog into a moving meditation. Whatever shakes up the routine and gets you genuinely connected.

Make Church a Regular Gig
Instead of simply going to church at the weekends, get involved! Join a group, volunteer, or even help plan events for the church. Think of it as your spiritual gym where you flex those faith muscles and spend time with like-minded people.

Tune In to Some Holy Jams
Who says the only good beats are played at clubs? Turn your daily commute into a praise party with a playlist filled with your favorite spiritual tunes. Let your faith be your soundtrack, whether it’s gospel, Christian rock, or peaceful meditative tunes. It’s like having a tiny choir in your earbuds, minus the robes.

Read Up and Reflect
Grab that dusty old holy book (yeah, that big one you’ve been using as a coaster) and read a passage daily. But don’t just read—reflect! Maybe even start a blog or a vlog where you share your thoughts and connect with others. It’s like starting your spiritual book club, but you’re also the president.

Serve Like a Boss
Faith becomes real when you put it into action. Find ways to serve within your community that resonate with your beliefs. Whether it’s feeding the homeless, tutoring kids, or planting trees, make your actions reflect your faith. It’s doing good, feeling good, and hey, it’s good karma, too.

Digital Detox for the Divine
Let’s be honest: our digital addiction often drowns out the spiritual whisperings we might otherwise hear. Try a tech fast for a part of your day or week. Unplug, go analog, and see what insights bubble up when you’re not drowning in notifications. It’s like a juice cleanse for your soul.

Prayer Buddy System
Everything’s more fun with friends, right? Partner with a prayer buddy to share insights, challenge each other, and keep the faith flame burning. It’s like having a gym buddy, but instead of spotting you at the bench press, they’re there for your spiritual reps.

Decorate with Devotion
Surround yourself in your living space with symbols that remind you of your faith. Art, icons, scriptures, or even colors that have spiritual significance can turn your home into a sanctuary. It’s like interior decorating but blessed.

Mindful Meals
Before you wolf down that next meal, take a moment to bless it, savor it, and contemplate the connection between your faith and food. Maybe even try fasting from certain foods as a spiritual practice—not just because you read about the latest fad diet. It’s about nourishment for both body and soul.

Faith isn’t just a Sunday thing, so add it to your everyday life!

Why Choosing a Dog Should Be More Than Fur Deep

So, you’re thinking about getting a dog. Maybe you’ve scrolled through Instagram and fallen in love with those adorable wrinkly-faced pugs or those majestic Siberian Huskies with piercing blue eyes. In general, dog breed trends are a thing, just like breeds for other animals. But when looking for factors to consider when getting a pet, a dog specifically, you have to understand that looks aren’t everything. In fact, how you care for each breed will usually vary.

While yes, it’s easy to get caught up in the aesthetics of a particular breed, there’s a lot more to consider when bringing a furry friend into your life. The aesthetics should be the last thing on your list. But why exactly?

Looks Aren’t Everything
Sure, those fluffy coats and floppy ears are undeniably cute, but choosing a dog based solely on looks is like judging a book by its cover. What many people get wrong, primarily when they’ve never owned a dog, is that each breed has unique characteristics, temperament, and energy level that may or may not align with your lifestyle and preferences. So, if you’re in love with the Doberman but are not an active person who likes to go out of the house, this will be a terrible combination.

Temperament Matters
Now, it’s understandable that you want to high-tail it to a breeder the second you find out about German shepherd puppies for sale near you; it’s understandable because what’s there not to love about German shepherds and puppies? But the thing is, every breed has its temperament, too. Yes, this is something that you need to understand! While yes, generally speaking, dogs share some of the same qualities like energy, playfulness, and loyalty, they all still have varying temperaments.

Just like people, dogs have their personalities. Some breeds are known for being energetic and outgoing, while others are more laid-back and reserved. Plus, some aren’t nearly as loyal as you’d expect. Consider what personality traits you value in a canine companion and choose a breed that matches your preferences. For example, if you want a loyal dog that’s crazy for you, the Shiba Inu might not be such a great idea.

What’s Your Lifestyle?
So, what does your lifestyle look like? Are you an avid runner who enjoys long outdoor adventures? Or do you prefer cozy nights with a good book curled up on the couch? Different breeds have different exercise needs and activity levels, so choosing a dog that fits your lifestyle is essential.

You can’t just expect the dog to have its energy pent up, either; it will lead to a disaster. You have to think about their needs; there’s no compromising; they’re dogs. So, you’ll either have to change your lifestyle or find a dog breed that better matches your current lifestyle.

Compatibility is Everything
At the end of the day, the most crucial factor in choosing a dog is compatibility. It’s not just about finding the cutest or trendiest breed; it’s about finding a furry friend who will fit seamlessly into your life and bring you joy and companionship for years to come. It’s not just about your happiness; it’s their happiness too!

Hello, Elegant Ones!

If you follow contemporary Christian music, you may be familiar with Rebecca St. James and Luke and Joel Smallbone, the duo behind for King and Country. The new movie Unsung Hero chronicles their family’s move to Nashville in the early 1990s.

Coming to America after hitting rock bottom in Australia, the Smallbone family (David, Helen, and their six children with one on the way) expected a new beginning. However, when things do not go as planned, they are forced to adjust and make a new plan. Unsung Hero illustrates how the family stuck together and worked together when the odds were against them by putting God first and trusting in Him.

Encountering God Study Bible (Review and Giveaway)

Hello Beautiful People,

This is my birthday month, and I am celebrating the entire month!

Over the years, the BubblingWithEleganceAndGrace team has had the opportunity to review a variety of Bibles, each with its own assets and qualities. Our team recently had the chance to review the new Encountering God Study Bible, the crowning work of the Blackaby scholars.

According to the Bible’s introduction, the deepest of every human heart is to encounter God. Developing a more profound relationship with God is essential.

The Encountering God Study Bible shows you how to have daily encounters with God through His word as you read and study. Its content encourages you to develop regular Bible reading and study habits. You will expect significant life changes to happen as God acts to engage you with His Word.

Order your copy of the Encountering God Study Bible today here!

The Encountering God Study Bible provides historical accounts of dramatic encounters with God in the lives of Christians throughout the centuries.

Highlights of the Bible
*Explanatory Notes provide insight into ideas, events, people, and places that will provide a clearer understanding of the scriptures.

* Encounter Notes highlight how God has chosen to encounter you in His Word. One example that stood out was when I looked at Psalm 91. My husband and I read this psalm every day for protection over us and our family. In the Encountering God Study Bible, you will see an Encounter Note for Psalm 91:4 Truth – The safest place in the world is to make our home under the shadow of the Almighty and be covered by His truth. To trust Him is to know His peace amid the storm.

* Historical Encounters recounts dramatic experiences with God in the lives of Christians through the centuries. Again, looking at Psalm 91, we see how Charles Spurgeon utilized Psalm 91:9 to comfort him during a bout of depression.

*Word studies, character studies, charts, and maps illuminate the text.

*How to study the Bible method taught by the Blackabys.

* Over 40,000 cross references.
