Hello Beautiful People,
Coolness is in the air this week, and I am looking forward to Fall.
The Bubbling with Elegance and Grace team recently had the opportunity to review the new Alexander R. Maclaren Study Bible (New King James Version), published by the Thomas Nelson Bible company. The Bible is beautiful, and the one sent to me was bound in a soft, faux-leather version. The Bible also includes two ribbons, and the pages have a gray design.
Who was Alexander Maclaren?
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, on February 11, 1826, Alexander Maclaren was the pastor of Union Chapel in Manchester, England, from 1858 to 1903. Heralded as the “Prince of Expositors,” he is considered by many to be one of the best preachers of the nineteenth century. The popularity of Maclaren’s published sermons rivaled that of Charles Spurgeon, helping him develop a global acclaim for his remarkable biblical insights, delivered in a poetic style. Maclaren’s works continue to be read and studied due to their timeless relevance, verbal beauty, and profound freshness. He was a contemporary of Charles Spurgeon in his time.

Many thanks to HarperCollins Christian Publishing for providing a sample of the Bible for this review. Opinions are 100% my own.
I have always admired Jon MacArthurs teaching as well as the great Billy Graham’s teaching, but there are so many that are just amazing. I am not familiar with Alexander R. Maclaren so this would be a treasure to own!
Thank you for sharing. I need to look into MacArthur’s teaching. Billy Graham has always been a favorite of mine.
I have a couple, but Billy Graham stands out the most to me because he was such an advocate for civil rights.
Billy Graham has always been a powerful teacher of God’s word.
Fr. John Corapi.
Thank you for sharing! I will need to look into his teachings.
My favorite word of God teacher in my life was also my 4th grade teacher, Miss Edna Alexander. She was a wonderful teacher in my life!
That is so wonderful that you remember your 4th grade teacher! What a cherished memory!
