JT Style File: Patricia Nash Linked Leather Pisticci Shoulder Bag

Hello, Elegant Lovelies,

This bag just gives off vintage style even though it’s brand new.

I recently filmed a review of the Patricia Nash Pisticici Linked Leather Shoulder bag below.

Patricia Nash has her own website here.

Patricia Nash has had her designs on Evine.com, Hsn.com and now will be on the sister channel QVC.com. Her designs are unique and timeless. The Pisticci bag gives the 60s and 70s vibes. This bag reminds me so much of my mother’s bag. The Pisticci bag has additional features that include a lining, inner pockets, and it can convert to a crossbody as you see in the photo below. I purchased the bag at Lord and Taylor with a great one day sale.  However, the bag retails for $399.99.

What does Pisticci mean?
Pisticci (Metapontino: Pestìzze; Latin: Pesticium) is a town comune in the province of Matera, in the Southern Italian region of Basilicata. It’s the fourth town of the region for citizen and the most populated of the province after Matera. It is known for being the production site of Amaro Lucano, one of the most famous Italian liqueurs. (Wikipedia)

Pisticci through the arm

PIsticci Shoulder bag through the arm is perfect if you are wanting to showcase the bag in all its beauty.

The 1970s are in now?
Yes, the 1970s are in now but you have to understand that it’s more of an inspiration. For example, the bell bottom jeans you wore in the 70s may have no stretch and may be as stiff as a board. The bell bottom jeans now will be more inspired with new technology may have more stretch for comfort and may have a more 2019 construction.  Inspiration is the key here but if those jeans you have from the 1970s feel great then wear them.

Why no picture of my mother’s bag?

My mother’s bag, unfortunately, was falling apart and couldn’t be repaired. It was such a good feeling inside when I saw this bag it took the inspiration of my mother’s bag to another level.

What vintage-inspired pieces do you have in your wardrobe?

The Signs Your Home Has A Problem With Rodents

No matter what continent you live on, rodents can be a pest, and it is always advisable to try and keep them out of your home to prevent an infestation from occurring, which can happen quickly. However, there are some telltale signs that you can look for which are warning signs that you may have a rodent problem in your home, and you can read what they are below.

You See A Mouse
If you see one mouse, you can guarantee that there are more of them, and at the rate that they breed, you could soon have an infestation on your hands. You may also find a dead mouse and if you do you will need to seek an effective electronic rodent control system to try and drive the rodents from your home by using a device which creates an electromagnetic field.

You Hear The Mice
Just as with seeing a mouse, if you hear one, there is going to be more of them so you should take action at the first warning signs. If you hear scratching or scurrying sounds, then these are a good indication that you have rodents in your home of one sort or another.

You Find Droppings
Another tell-tale sign that you have rodents in your home is that you find droppings around the house or even find where the mice have urinated. As well as droppings and urine you may also notice a musky smell, which is a warning sign that you have rodents in the building so you will need to address it before it becomes a real problem.

Gnaw Marks On Packaged Food
You may also notice that there are boxes of food which have been gnawed open, which is again another sign that rodents have gotten into your home and are running amuck. You may also find that they chew wood and electrical wiring, so they can potentially be very destructive as well as a pain in your life. If you see any of the above signs, then you will need to take immediate action before the problem gets out of hand.

What You Can Do About It
With just a little Internet research, you get to learn about tips on how to spot and get rid of pests. Among those tips is the use of an electromagnetic device you can plug into your home. It uses the wiring of the house to create an electromagnetic field which will drive the rodents away. Once they have gone, you will need to find where they entered your home and block the openings up. Do not leave any food out and keep rubbish in secure plastic bins to prevent them from going through it. Once you have blocked all of the entry points to your home and you have the electric devices plugged in, you will not only have blocked them from entering the building, but the magnetic fields will also help to keep them away. These devices are harmless to children, cats, and dogs, so are perfectly safe to use in the home.

Tidying Up: Fact or Fiction?

Hello Elegant Lovelies,

It’s spring and it’s time to tidy up and do some cleaning.  Isn’t it funny how when spring comes you see the dust and the work that needs to be done, outside as well. One good thing about the warmer burst during the winter is that my hubby and I were able to get outside and tidy up a bit, so there is not so much to do now.

Everyone has been buzzing about Marie Kondo and her, Tidying Up series on Netflix. If you haven’t seen it check out the trailer below.

Marie Kondo published a book titled, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing in 2014 and has been an instant best seller with over 14,000 reviews on Amazon.

The Marie Kondo Method is going from room to room, organizing what you do want that makes you happy and what doesn’t make you happy.  If a piece of clothing or another item in your house does not make you happy, you need to thank that item for serving you and put it in a separate pile.  In the Tidying Up episodes, it works for each family but it is not an instant organization overnight. The cleansing process can take more than a month and she doesn’t force people to throw things away.

I must admit I have been rolling my socks, tights, pajamas for a while now, even before I knew about the Marie Kondo method. The one thing that I didn’t do that I picked up from the series is that after you fold, stand your socks, tights, sweaters, etc. upright so you can see what you have in your chest-of-drawers. And put items in plastic crates so you can see what is in them. What you don’t see you will not go back to. I thought it was interesting that when she would go into a home she would want to greet it first by kneeling on the floor and closing her eyes.  She really wants to create a surrounding of peace because organizing a whole house can be quite overwhelming.

Why do I organize?

I organize because I live in a small house, and to be honest with you, too much clutter looks really bad and not good for the mind. An organized house no matter the size creates a peaceful surrounding. And I can design the room spaces of my house better because a lot of stuff is not in the way. I find it overwhelming to do a whole house at one time so I go room by room and that is also what Marie Kondo does in her show.
My mother would always tell me that if I didn’t keep my things in the proper place and organized than I wasn’t thankful for what I have. I have always remembered her saying that and I think that’s my push not to have clutter because it feels like chaos to me.

If you don’t know where to start with organizing a space or your chest-of-drawers I think it would be good for you to watch the Tidying Up series with Marie Kondo on Netflix.

I find that the key with organization is to stick with it. Meaning if your socks get out of place put them back in place and so on. If you do this for at least 15 days the process will start to become a habit.

Please let me know how de-cluttering works for you.

The Pilgrim’s Progress (Movie Preview and Giveaway #1)

The first day of spring is today and I can already hear the birds chirping in the morning and I see the squirrels running around in the yard.
I have already started seeing advertisements for Easter and bunny decorations in all sizes. While seeing those ad I thought in the back on my mind what does the Resurrection mean to me?  I know that Jesus died on the cross for my sins, I know that He did it just for me. But am I really seeking him?
My hubby and I had the opportunity to screen the new movie The Pilgrim’s Progress. We will have a complete review of the movie closer to Easter when the movie opens.
