Hello, Lovelies,
I hope you are having an awesome day. On our way to church, this morning, my hubby and I noticed that the leaves are starting to change colors. It is time for me to bring out the fall decorations and look through the cookbooks for scrumptious soups and chilis recipes. The cooler days make me want to spend time on the couch, curled up under a warm blanket and watching a good movie. My hubby and I had the opportunity to preview a movie that will only be in theaters for one day, Monday, November 4th. The movie is CHRISTMAS JARS and here is the trailer.
Based on the New York Times Bestselling novel by Jason F. Wright, CHRISTMAS JARS tells the story of an aspiring newspaper journalist, Hope Jenson. Following a series of heart-breaking events, a mysterious person leaves a Christmas Jar filled with money on Hope’s doorstep. She soon finds out that she is not the only person to have received a jar. She wants to write an article about it for the newspaper. In the process of trying to find out who did this thoughtful deed, she has to decide whether she should compromise her values for professional gain.
Do we need to know the identity of who has given these Christmas Jars to the people in need? Teach one, reach one is a theme that resonates and it’s a wonderful time to bring to life in the movie. Giving is contagious, but at what cost? Does the anonymous person(s) who left the Christmas Jars all over the Columbus, Ohio area want to be found out? In Hope’s quest to find out who this person is, she creates a map of the people in the Columbus area who received the jar. Will she find out who the mysterious person is?
This heartfelt movie is family-oriented and shows how we should show kindness and generosity in our lives. And to find out if Hope compromises her values or not you have to go see the movie on Monday, November 4th. To purchase tickets to reserve your seats please go HERE!
We don’t have to show acts of kindness, however, it leaves such a good feeling inside when we do something for another person.

Every year I donate at least 30 quilts to various charities. I give away lots of cookies and I have been trying to think of new ideas for neighbors and friends. I know it will be Hot Chocolate jars but what else sounds good?
This is wonderful, Christi! I know you will make many people’s heart feel the love of the Christmas season.
I just retired this past January after 30 years of service I go periodically to my former place of work and treat the staff to snacks or breakfast because sometimes people do not get a chance to eat and a good breakfast is important to stay focused and productive. I recently payed 2 police officer’s breakfast bill at my favorite place I tried to stay anonymous but my server pointed me out. They came over and were really touched and gratofoed and that made me feel good I plan to do it again but remain anonymous.
This is a great way for you to keep in contact with the people you worked with through the years. I know sometimes it is hard to keep anonymous when trying to pay for someone’s meal, but I know the police officers appreciated it.
What me and hubby have done for several of which we still do and will continue to do so as long as we can, and that is; a week or so before Thanksgiving we go and buy groceries with all the fixings for a needy family and provide them with a nice turkey meal.
Also, while in the check out line, if there is a really elderly couple in front of us, we will go ahead and pay for their groceries as well.
Have also paid for someone’s meal at a restaurant or even at a fast food place among other things.
We expect nothing in return, but it sure does make us feel good inside when we have the opportunity to help someone else who is in need.
Basically same thing when Christmas rolls around, but we don’t do things like this just around the holidays; we do it throughout the year; helping one another is the name of the game.
This is great, Colleen! I know these people appreciative of having a good meal to celebrate the holidays.
I will be crocheting items for the homeless this holiday season such as scarves and hats to help them keep warm.
That’s wonderful, bless you for what you are doing in this world.
We like to invite a senior is living alone for Christmas dinner.
That’s a great way to celebrate Christmas.
I’ve been doing this for several years now,I collect, and buy several toys throughout the year and donate them in December for local kids,I also buy and donate baby clothes, toys,my own crib, and other baby items such as baby quilts, blanket, and crib sheets towards a local charity to help expectant moms who have no help, they may be single and alone and/or just having a hard time.
You and everyone commenting are such an inspiration and showing that each one of us can help in so many different ways.
you can get a needy child gifts for christmas. Donate your time to a feeding the homeless. Donate your old clothes to Goodwill. You can donate jackets to salvation army and pick up an angel from the angel tree!
Caroling is a nice thing to do to. Donating your time can be just as valuable as your money. A lot of people donate money during the holidays but it seems everyone is always short volunteers
That’s right. My church has an angel tree and samaritan’s purse shoebox gifts. I agree that donating time is just as valuable as donating money. Why do you think they are short on volunteers?
During the holiday season, when I am out and about, I love to buy the person behind me in the drive thru, their food. They are always smiling when they get told that their food was paid for and I hope they carry that happy mood around with them throughout their day.
This is a precious thing to do. It is no feeling like paying it forward. It’s contagious. I remember a colleague at work said someone had paid for her breakfast and it made her day.
I am definitely going to see that. My church is doing 100 days each one reach one.
Please let me know what you think of the movie when you see it. Wow, 100 days of each one teach one. So many ways to make an impact on someone’s life.
I loved the movie and the message of giving that it shared. But, the last few scenes of the movie where bedlam took over was not in good taste. It seemed to make fun of the Movie and its message. Sorry
Hello William, which scenes are you referring to that you didn’t like?
