The last couple of weeks the temperatures have been well below normal, with highs topping out at only in the upper 70s. But this week, the temperatures are creeping back up to the upper 80s and even 90 is forecasted later in the week. Beat the summer heat with a cool handkerchief top and cool breathable pants.
The top with the black tank underneath from Susan Graver rocks because it is not only pretty to look at, it is also very cool and comfortable elegance.
Oh! Don’t forget to go and vote and visit ICU Eyewear because there is a good chance you could wear some really cute readers.

ICU Eyewear
Full view of the back of the top. The sides are sewn from below the armhole down so nothing is showing that you don’t want to.

The red pants by George Siminton works so beautifully. The red is so empowering and bold. Most of the time black pants would be styled with this outfit, but I wanted to add some pizzazz so I added a vibrant color. Below is a an up close picture of the print in the top. The flowers in red orange , yellow, lilac, purple, are bursting in joy. The necklace was purchase from a local artist. My bangle eye candy jewelry were gifts from my hubby. my purse if from Dooney and Bourke that shoes color blocking.

Bracelets : Brass and Silver
Ring – Taxco silver
Coin cuff – Italian Lire gold trim
All set to take the pic and Vinny gets in the shot. Oh well!

Word for the day!

Hi Elegant Lovelies!
This dress was such a great find from Macy’s last year. I am not sure what my hubby and I paid for it but it was not full price.
- Dress by Elementz
The colors are so vibrant and bright and the leaves are so asymmetrical and strategic in pattern placement that it elongates the body.
The black lace jacket was from a black sheath dress set. The dress size was too large for me. However, I kept the jacket because I thought it could go with other pieces in my wardrobe. I wore the sheath dress set when I vacationed in Los Angeles some years back and this is the first time I wore the jacket since that time. Snap! I know better and I will definitely wear this jacket more often. The ruffle lace trim is so dainty and feminine.

My man-made fabric handbag is from Kathy Van Zeeland and I don’t think she makes this design anymore. My shoes are from Etienne Aigener.
List of my jewelry selections:
Earrings- Large gold hoops
Necklace -Red jasper heart necklace
Watch – Ceramic by Isaac Mizrahi
Heart Charm Bracelet – gift from hubby
Ring – Sleeping Beauty Turquoise sterling ring
This dress can go for work or play. Change up the shoes, hair, or jewelry.

JT Flower in the hair
I really like wearing flowers in my hair and this turned out oh so chic.
My hubby and I took this pic coming home from church. When I look at my love, I smile and thank the Lord for him. He is very special to me.

Hello Elegant lovelies!
Be bold and be fearless! Wear those cool prints.

Don’t be afraid to wear big and bold prints. The dress is by Calvin Klein that I purchased at Ross Dress for Less. Ross Dress for Less is a new store in my area. The first store opened up last year. I have only gone a couple of times now and found a few things that I liked. But like most of the outlet-type stores, you really have to look through countless racks of clothes with the hopes of finding something worthwhile. In my experience with these stores, I may go one time and find several great pieces; but the next time I go, I do not find one thing worth buying.
You just need to be willing to take the time to look.
I am wearing the Calvin Klein dress with a black tank underneath and a blouse turned into a jacket on top.
My shoe booties are from Vince Camuto and they are very comfortable. A wedge heel gives height and comfort.
I am also carrying my birthday present from this May, my Dooney and Bourke red and navy patent handbag.

The dress is very slimming and the print is not overbearing at all. The dress has a high waist and slight ruching, so the construction is on point.

JT in Big and Bold Prints
I styled the dress with white patent leather wedges for a completely different look, maybe for church, office or a concert.
Sometimes all it takes to change up a style is a different wedge or shoe.

Hi my Elegant Readers,
I hope you are having an awesome week and a great summer.
I am trying to tell you something so hold up and please read. Thanks! I will do an outfit post on this dress and how I styled it in a future post. I had to let you know about this sale on Boticca.

JTwisdom
I was recently introduced to a company called Boticca. This company features awesome jewelry and amazing accessories crafted by independent designers from all over the world. Boticca is currently has a sale through the end of July, so time is running out. My contact with Boticca has given me a discount code that my readers can save an extra 20% off their purchase of any sale item. By clicking here, you will go directly into the sale pages. The prices fit into everyone’s budget, from less than twenty dollars to over a hundred dollars. Although the company is based out of Great Britain, they will ship their items to anywhere in the world. And they also offer free shipping. Isn’t that awesome.
I really like that bottica.com is a marketplace where I can directly interact with the designer if I so choose. It makes me feel like I am walking into a virtual designer showroom.
After perusing through the sale items, I decided to purchase a set of beautiful earrings crafted by French designer Mademoiselle Felee. The earrings look so sophisticated, and have a sense of confidence. I have included a video where the designer describes what inspires her lovely creations.
[vimeo]http://vimeo.com/39592631[/vimeo]
I so love the designer’s quote about her inspirations.
“My muse is the Eiffel Tower because it is a real beauty. It is full of inspiring details.”
The earrings that I purchased are below. Don’t they look bold and beautiful? I think they look marvelous. I can not wait until I get them and get a chance to wear them. I will be doing another post with the earrings once they are delivered.

Jessica Howard
Color blocking is a great way to expand your wardrobe. It’s so fresh and vibrant.

JTwisdom
Colorblocking came on the scene a couple of years ago as the next, big trend. Designers were incorporating it in their lines. Stylists had their clients wearing it everywhere. And fashion magazines were showing an abundant of photographs. Being a trend, it was not expected to stay. However, if it is done in the right way, color blocking can become an instant classic. I purchased this color-blocked dress on clearance. It retailed for around $118; but I purchased it on sale for $39.99.
Did I say that I do not really like showing my arms. Well you ask, “Why, don’t you workout?” Yes, I work out; but I have a scar on my left upper shoulder. As a young girl, I was pushed into a bathroom door and the piece of wood lodged in my shoulder. I know, TMI, but that what happened and I had to get stitches. I am stepping out in faith and showing my arms. I work out so that my arms are toned and defined. I have the right to bare arms.
My scarf spiced up the outfit. The soft and subdued print of the scarf compliments the rich and vibrant color in the dress.

JT in Jessica Howard
I wore this dress to a memorial service celebrating the life of a friend’s son who went to be with the Lord in a car accident. You may ask why you I do not have on black. Black to me does not seem like a color for celebrating life. Vibrant colors in a color blocking mode says celebration.

JTwisdom in Jessica Howard
These colors can be deceiving because the dress look like pink and black; but they are pink and navy. The photo looks like pink and navy blue. The day I wore this dress was nice but not too hot. The dress is made of 100% polyester that looks like shantung silk and is lined. The dress did not feel hot; but I don’t think I would wear it if the temperature rose above 90 degrees.

I am not the kind of person that wears a different bag everyday. I may change up every other day, every two to three days, or after a week. The handbag with this outfit offers a sharp contrast and not the same color. I even changed up the color of the shoes so it wouldn’t be totally matching. Can’t forget Gio and Vinny make sure the cut into the camera shot.
