Looking great isn’t easy, because if it were then everyone would be doing it, and then nobody would stand out from one another. Of course, if you are having a problem with your fashion or if you know that you are just not happy with the way that you look then here are some top tips that will get you started on your journey to fashion success.
Wear a Hat You’d be surprised at how much a hat can make a difference to your outfit. When you do choose to wear a hat, it helps to make sure that it suits your look. For example, if you know that you are going to be wearing a big, long coat then try and opt for a hat that is a little oversized. If you are
wearing a jacket then try and go for a knitted or even a woolly hat. This will really bring out your look and it can work wonders for your style. When you are trying to choose the right hat for your outfit, try and make sure that you are taking into account the colour of it. After all, you need to make sure that the colour of your hat matches in with another aspect of your outfit as well, whether it is a scarf, your shoes or even a belt.
It’s All About Layers Believe it or not, fashion is very much about layers. When you are choosing your fashionable outfit, try and make sure that you are choosing items which compliment each other. For example, you can easily wear a cotton t-shirt with a denim jacket and this is a great look, but if you add another jacket on top of that or another t-shirt underneath then this can make the whole outfit look cluttered. Two or three layers is best when planning out your clothing, but if you want to add something more to your outfit then this is entirely possible for you to do, which leads onto the next point.
Accessories Accessories are a great way for you to add to an outfit that you have without having to worry about adding more layers. If you have a crew neck t-shirt under your jacket then try and add an oversized necklace. You could even add some pin badges to your denim jacket or some new buttons. Little things like this can make all of the difference. If you want to buy some jewellery to go with your outfit then it’s worth checking out sites such as https://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/tacori/. They can help you to find whatever you need and without any stress at all.
Of course, looking great can be hard work and at times it may even feel impossible. The main thing that you have to remember here is that it’s important for you to have your own style so that you don’t feel as though you are copying from everyone else. When you are able to do this, you can then start to build your own level of confidence and self-esteem, which is essential in the world of fashion.

I hope you are staying cool since this summer has been so hot. It seems like instead of this being a cooler summer as the almanac had predicted, it is just the opposite. And when it is hot, who wants to wear fabrics that cling instead of ones that breathe and keeps you cool. If you have been feeling uncomfortable in your clothes, look for natural fiber fabrics like cotton, rayon, or a combination of cotton, polyester and spandex or modal. I had to take a look at my summer wardrobe, starting with what I do not wear anymore and pieces that look dated or worn. I slowly decluttered and it was time to take make room for some new pieces of apparel. One of the first pieces I included in my wardrobe for summer was a tunic. The 79% cotton/21% polyester, with exclusive of decoration gauze tunic is from Denim and Co. for QVC. I selected the color sky blue because it was a color that I do not have in my closet. I liked this tunic because it does not overwhelm me. Even though I wear a single-digit size, I have been called big-boned which disgusts me because I feel that is derogatory. Anyway, a tunic can overwhelm me and look boxy. This tunic appealed to me because it has a shape and the sleeves are not overwhelming. I added jewelry and the sleeves to don’t conflict in anyway.

This is a perfect outfit for your house of worship, for the movies on a date night, or the office. The Skechers Suede Peep-toe Sling-back Trapezoid wedges are on clearance right now at QVC.com, certain sizes are on waitlist or sold out in certain colors.
What new pieces have you introduced into summer wardrobe? This is the first in series of style posts that will highlight some of the new pieces in my closet and how you can make similar pieces work for you.

Fashion is certainly fickle. But, at times, it is not! For each fly-by crop top, you’ll find a timeless, chic print. Here’s a look at some timeless fashion trends that never seem to lose their appeal.
The Ladylike look Way back in 1947, well-known French designer, Christian Dior brought us the lavishly feminine new look, complete with full skirt and nipped in waist. Style icons like Jackie Kennedy and Grace Kelly gave the look mass appeal during the 1950s, making it the silhouette women still turn to.
This look just doesn’t waver in popularity since it truly complements curves, and looks refined without being over-the-top. The sophistication with this look lies in the details. Choose vintage jewellery or bow-tie kitten heals for effortless class.
A modern way to wear this look is to try separates instead of the traditional fit and flare dress. A bodice and skirt combo look sensational. And for evening wear that is just as comfortable and glamorous, you can pair an embellished wrap shirt with a beautiful twirly skirt.
Animal Prints When Europeans very first began to colonize Africa and Asia during the 18th century, they brought back the skins of tigers, zebras and leopards. These prints have, ever since, left their mark on clothing and decor. A few centuries later, red carpet faces like Marilyn Monroe and Lauren Bacall harnessed animal prints’ super-sexy magnetism.
It’s easy to see why animal prints don’t go out of fashion. They’re just like neutrals – they’re made of blacks, beiges and browns. They’re seasonless. You can wear the prints with just about anything. And, they’re a great way to add a little edge to any outfit.
To pull off an uber-stylish print, use small doses, like animal print accessories. Today, we find prints that seem to be more magnified or graphic. Opt for a patterned piece with a solid tone to keep it from looking retro. Stick to simple, tasteful and sleek silhouettes.
Menswear for Ladies Designer Coco Chanel introduced us to pants for women during the 1920s. She even popularised sportswear separates, such as cardigans and jackets. Not far behind, Katharine Hepburn brought fame and glamour to the tomboy look during the 1930s and in the 1070s, musician Patti Smith added a little rock and roll to the look.
This is another timeless trend that keeps coming back. Menswear, believe it or not, is flattering on just about any body shape or size, and it works for both casual and formal wear. Choose a chunky watch, a frilly top or sexy heel to glam-up your menswear-inspired outfit. But, be sure to choose fitted cuts, though, and contrast the sharp tailoring with feminine, fun accents like colourful heels and daring jewellery.
These are just some examples of timeless trends that never go out of style. There’s also the little black dress and floor length ball gowns. What’s your go-to classic for a formal occasion?
If you are like me, the digital age has left my handbag full of wireless gadgets. From smart phones and tablets, to headphones and MP3 players; it seems that there is another device out there that becomes the newest necessity. When taking these items on-the-go with us, it is important that we keep them charged up so that they can be fully functional when we need them. More than ever, the most important necessity is a portable charger, like the MOPHIE POWERSTATION PLUS, for those emergency situations. Thanks to our partnership with Verizon Wireless, we were able to demo the Mophie for thirty days.
The Mophie portable charger is capable of charing smart phones, tablets, or any other mobile device. Depending on the device and how much the battery is depleted, the Mophie 1200 mAh can charge your smart phone up to four times on a single charge. The Mophie Powerstationis designed to charge two devices, whether they are Apple and micro-USB devices, at one time because of the charger’s built–in, switch–tip cable — as seen in the photo below.
The Mophie Powerstation Plus 12000 with Switch-Tip Cable
The Mophie Powerstation Plus portable charger is one of those items that I would recommend for every member of your family. Nowadays, everyone is carrying some sort of wireless device and the need to stay connected is vitally important. Maybe it is for your teenager who has his / her first smart phone and he / she is away at summer camp. Maybe it is for your spouse who takes public transportation to get to work. You never know when you will need to have to have that emergency boost. What would you do if you were out late at night and you have a dead battery – in your vehicle and on your phone. You need to call for a tow truck to help. You want that peace of mind knowing that you can to make that call to a family member or to stay in touch with the technician as he makes his way to help you.
The Mophie needs to be in everyone’s handbag, backpack or vehicle console. No one in your family should leave home without one.

Have you ever had a handbag that stopped you while in your stiletto heels?
The Florentine Toscana Front Pocket Satchel stopped me, literally.
I had said before that I was going to not get another handbag for a little while because I am focusing on saving and achieving that nest egg.
While at work and in a public area of the building, I had walked by a lady standing at a counter when I noticed her Dooney and Bourke handbag. Being a Dooney fan, I stopped and said to her that I really liked her bag. She turns to me and says, “Oh you mean my Dooney?!?” I said, “Yes, the strap is really different.” She told me that was one of the reasons that she purchased the Florentine Toscana. I knew by seeing the bag in person I had to add that bag to my wishlist.
Designer notes from the Dooney and Bourke website:
“Luxurious Italian leather and signature Dooney design elements combine for a collection that is truly exceptional. Inspired by one of Dooney & Bourke’s original styles, the Front Pocket Satchel speaks to our legacy of crafting and designing timeless, iconic shapes and features a variety of carrying options.”
The bag on the Dooney and Bourke site retails for $568.
Would you believe that this bag requires no creams, lotions or leather cleaners? To take care of the bag, all you need is a cloth.
The bag is soft but durable, sturdy but elegant. I received this bag as a Christmas gift and I must say it’s the gift that keeps on giving. This is an all-season handbag that has become a work horse in my wardrobe closest. I gave a full review of the handbag on my Youtube Channel.
I styled the handbag for an updated chic look. It is very classy with town and country vibes.
The more we are connected to our computers, smartphones and televisions, the more I realize that computer glasses are necessary. Computer glasses are designed to filter out the blue light from computer monitors, smart phone screens and even televisions. The blue lights can be harmful to your eyes and increase the amount of eye fatigue. I recently had an opportunity to collaborate with Spektrum to see how the glasses worked.
The glasses pictured below are similar to the design that was sent to my hubby and I. The inside of the frame arms are more red and there is a slightly yellow tint on the glasses that does not come through in this photograph. This yellow tint is what removes the white glare and the blue lights that are emitted from your computer screens.
Spektrum Computer glasses
Since I wear prescription glasses, I can only wear these glasses when I am wearing my contacts. My hubby could wear the pair because he does not wear glasses or contacts and the lenses do not have any prescription in them. For him, it was a new experience of wearing glasses (of any kind) for the first time. He said that the yellow tint took a little for him to be accustomed to because initially did not look natural. Also, he noted, that when looking out the sides of the glasses, he noticed a bright glare on occasion when looking at other light sources; which was another thing for him to get adjusted to. However, the more he wore the glasses, the easier it was to adjust to the yellow tint and the bright glare was not as noticeable. He recommended wearing the glasses because it was easier to look computer monitors and smartphone screens without the extreme brightness of the screen; and his eyes did not feel as tired when he wore them later in the evening.

Some questions you should ask yourself:
When you work on your computer, do you find that you don’t look away to give your eyes a break?
Do you often complain of headaches when you are looking at you’re computer for long hours?
Do your eyes feel tired or blurred after working on the computer?
Are you staying awake at night finding it hard to sleep?
If you answered yes to any of those questions you might consider computer glasses. You may not think that glasses are cool. But guess what? Spektrum glasses are more than that. The designs are cool and they protect your eyes.
I wear prescription glasses and Spektrum also has a varied array of computer glasses that you can add your prescription. The prescription glasses retail for $89. I chose the design below because I really enjoy wearing tortoiseshell and they are fashionable.
50% blue light blocking – blocks the most harmful blue light
Blocks 100% of harmful UVA and UVB light
Scratch-resistant coating to extend the life of your lenses
Anti-reflective coating makes lenses nearly invisible and eliminates reflections
Anti-glare coating alleviates eye strain and headaches caused by device glare
Anti-fog coating prevents fogging during temperature or moisture changes
Fingerprint-resistant anti-oil coating because no one likes to continually clean their glasses *(If your hands have lotion or oil you will have to wipe them off)
Free case and microfiber cleaning cloth included
The glasses are lightweight and come with a case with a magnetic closure and dust cloth.
Spektrum computer glasses are affordable, the price ranges are from $39.95 to around $89.95. If you have not checked out its website, Spektrum has polarized sunglasses, blue light blocking glasses, kids’ computer glasses, and prescription computer glasses. It’s so important to protect your eyes from the light that comes from your computer and smartphones. And please make sure you have your computers and smart phones set for night mode to ease the strain off your eyes.
TIP I know this is hard to do but if you could try to put all your techie devices away in hour before bed because it will give your eyes time to rest before bed.
