Hi Elegant Readers!
Today is a beautiful, lovely day.
I wanted to talk about how you can make a completely black outfit have flair and color. How do you say? Jewelry is a classic accessory that can spark a black ensemble.
Rachel Zoe bracelet and Amedeo NYC Cameo Ring
The collage above is me modeling my Rachel Zoe bracelet and Amedeo by NYC Cameo ring. Both jewelry pieces are fashion jewelry. I recently was looking at Tiffany’s website and saw a bracelet designed by Paloma Picasso Olive lead cuff in 18 KT gold that look like my bracelet and it retailed for $11,500.
Look at the similarities. My Rachel Zoe Bracelet is on the top and the Tiffany Paloma Picasso bracelet is on the bottom. Looks somewhat similar, don’t you think? But mine did n0t cost any where near $11,500. It was less than $100. I say I got the better deal.
I served in the computer ministry at my church on Sunday, so the standard outfit is all black. I spiced it up with sparkly jewelry and a colorful handbag or two.
The handbag on my shoulder is from the Bahamas. It caught my eye because of the vibrant colors from one of the many street vendor selling items in a small marketplace. My hubby and I visited the Bahamas while on a cruise in the Caribbean a couple years back. We had a fantastic time and you never know where you can find an inexpensive accessory that can add a big pop to an monochromatic look of all black. I usually carry my IPad and notebook in this bag. It is not heavy at all.
I have been wearing pink or adding in a pink accessory in the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness. This is a favorite bag of mine and I have had it for some years now. You can’t go wrong with a Dooney and Bourke leather bag.

You see black can have vibrancy with a few accessories. The Rachel Zoe bracelet is one of my favorites and I get compliments on it all the time. I purchase it from QVC. Unfortunately, it is not being sold anymore.
You can do so many things with a monotone palette.
How do you wear black? Do you add color or be smoked out in black?

Yes, you can wear white after Labor day, even if it’s in a print.

My white patent wedges are illuminating and I don’t think it was a really sunny day. The handbag I have is by Sharif and the leather tassel just takes this handbag to another level. Also the sewn on jewels on the handbag adds an exotic touch.

I really accentuated my look with my gifted Gucci sunglasses. I really like the wide frames and how light they are, My 14Kt earrings work well with the sunglasses and my Italian Lire bracelet simply rocks.

Not wearing white after Labor Day is a myth. Wear white all year long and wear it proud.

I really enjoy wearing sunglasses all year long, not only in the summer time. Have to protect those eyes!
Smartbuyglasses.com contacted me to try a pair of its sunglasses. I jumped to the occasion because I really wanted to try a pair and give my honest review. I had a $150.00 limit to pick any pair from its website. I perused through the pages and came upon a really chic and elegant pair from Gucci. I picked those and could not wait until they arrived.
My hubby opened the package for me while I took some pictures. The sunglasses were bubble wrapped and my package include a eyeglass kit. The kit includes eyeglass spray, a cloth, and a screwdriver to tighten the glasses. I can also use the screwdriver on my prescription lenses if the frames are loose.
The Gucci sunglasses I picked from smartbuyglasses.com were packed very well and they are as beautiful as I thought they would be.
So what’s a girl to do now? Style them of course. The frames are a large aviator style, but not heavy on my nose. Sometimes it can be up in the air when it comes to large frames and their weight; but theses sunglasses are very comfortable and oh so chic. The glasses have UV protection and are made in Italy.

The side view is slick and streamlined. Normally I would go for thicker sides to protect my eyes from the sun. However, the sides of these frames are not thin at all. I really like the level of thickness on the sides.

I give Smartbuyglasses.com two thumbs up because these sunglasses arrived in good timing, the packaging was well done and the sunglasses are so cool.

Smartbuyglasses.com carries designer eyewear from Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana to Coach. Please take a look at its site when you get a chance. After reviewing the site I found that you can purchase sunglasses and prescription glasses and the return policies are really great as well.
Thank you Smartbuyglasses.com for giving me the oppurtunity to try these ultra chic Gucci sunglasses.
Totally fabulous!

The last couple of weeks the temperatures have been well below normal, with highs topping out at only in the upper 70s. But this week, the temperatures are creeping back up to the upper 80s and even 90 is forecasted later in the week. Beat the summer heat with a cool handkerchief top and cool breathable pants.
The top with the black tank underneath from Susan Graver rocks because it is not only pretty to look at, it is also very cool and comfortable elegance.
Oh! Don’t forget to go and vote and visit ICU Eyewear because there is a good chance you could wear some really cute readers.

Full view of the back of the top. The sides are sewn from below the armhole down so nothing is showing that you don’t want to.
The red pants by George Siminton works so beautifully. The red is so empowering and bold. Most of the time black pants would be styled with this outfit, but I wanted to add some pizzazz so I added a vibrant color. Below is a an up close picture of the print in the top. The flowers in red orange , yellow, lilac, purple, are bursting in joy. The necklace was purchase from a local artist. My bangle eye candy jewelry were gifts from my hubby. my purse if from Dooney and Bourke that shoes color blocking.

All set to take the pic and Vinny gets in the shot. Oh well!

Happy Summer my Elegant Readers!
It has been hot lately; but this dress is even hotter. Ha Ha!
London Times
Dooney and Bourke
I added a green blouse for work because even though it is hot outside; it can get cool in the office. I am not complaining I just add my little shirt jacket over my dress and I am set.
Florals are a burst of color for summer. Every time I see bright colors it brings a smile to my face.
JT in London Times dress
Macy’s, in the Railway Exchange Building that opened in 1924, is closing. In a future post I will right more about the closing of the downtown destination. All their items are 40 to 60 percent off. I saw this dress and had to have it. I had never seen anything remotely like it. The detail work of the stitching of the garment is superb. I could of size down with this dress; but that’s okay. It is more of a relaxed fit. The flowers look like a vintage garden; but the blooms are not overpowering. The white background softens the colors and makes this dress a tried and true favorite of mine.
I will try to wear this dress in different ways because I believe that it can be a workhorse in the wardrobe. Did you notice I have a Dooney and Bourke color-blocked red and navy handbag that I am carrying. It is color but not overpowering. It does not compete with the colors in the dress; but it complements it very well.
Are you a bit apprehensive about color or do you step in with both feet and celebrate it?
