Summer Style Essentials: G.I.L.I Jetsetter Side Slit Pants

Hello Lovelies,

I hope you are having a wonderful day. Today was another hot and humid day; but I see signs of fall. Coming home from work today, my husband and I were driving down a street where normally people are weaving in and out of traffic and running stop signs on a regular basis. I pray God’s hedge of protection that people will drive more cordially. Would you know it, we come home and every few feet there are cement barriers that reduced the street to one lane in each direction. If these drivers try to weave around the other automobiles, they will have to dodge the barriers. I believe that people will be forced to drive differently.

Well, I tell you this story because sometimes you may want to get away from the hustle and bustle, but you can’t. So what do you do? A couple of months back, I purchased two pairs of the G.I.L.I Jetsetter Side Slit pants from QVC. One pair is in the Black Tropical (seen below) and one in Black Palm. The pants are so carefree and the look is high end. I am wearing the pant in the black tropical and they make me feel like I am going on a European vacation. I paired it with a wedge shoe from Skechers and lace top from Isaac Mizrahi. If wedges are not your favorite choice, a flat or heel would work and make the pants versatile.

The wide-leg pant makes a bold statement and are not for the shy at heart. Get ready for the compliments when wearing them. They have the look of a palazzo pants without being too wide. I chose a size small; but I could have gone down to an extra small; but that’s okay. I just want to let you know how the size is pretty generous. I thought that the wide leg would be overpowering; but the flow of the fabric is just right. The fabric is soft and feels good on the body. These pants are on my Summer Style Essentials list because they are effortless and can be coordinated with many tops and blouses already in your closet.

Google Clips Captures The Important Moment Of Your Life

Hi, Lovelies,

I hope you are out there taking your vacations, staycations and enjoying life. Before you know it summer will be winding down and school will be starting back up. If you are looking to keep those summer memories, you may want to consider the Google Clips. The Google Clips is the latest technology of capturing your friends and loved ones in motion.

With our partnership with Verizon Wireless, Bubbling With Elegance And Grace used the Google Clips for 30 days to write this review.

The tiny camera measures only 1.9 inches by 1.9 inches by .8 inches. It is designed to capture the best memories of your busy lifestyle with minimal effort. The device can be held in your hand, placed amongst the crowd at a party or on your body while out and about on the hiking trails.

After downloading the app to your smartphone, you set up the device and you are ready to start capturing those memories. From your smartphone, you can live-preview what is in the camera’s 130 degree field of view. You can then view the captured clips from your smartphone and decide which ones you want to save or discard. It features 16GB internal storage; but offers unlimited storage if you use the Google Pixel smartphone.

With Google Machine learning built in, Clips is able to recognize and automatically save moments with facial expressions. And over time, it will learn to recognize the people you spend time with and automatically capture clips of your moments together.

The resolution technology is so clear for something so small. You can be hands-free, when the kids and pets are running around and you are trying to get the right focus. You can hold it clip it, or set it down if you like. And Google clips sends the motion pictures right to your phone.

The Clips is new to the market and I suspect Google will be continue to improve the camera’s capabilities as time goes on. The initial set-up took a little time because the instructions given on the app were not clear. But once I got it set-up and determine how to use the device, it worked well and was easier the more I used it. The movement and facial-recognition feature works well made it easy to get in-the-moment clips. The device’s battery does not stay charged for a long period of time. In less than 30 minutes, the battery was already at 50 percent. So keep this in mind when you want to be sure to capture the memories from the birthday party or day at the beach. It will need to be charged regularly. The Clips retails for $249, which for some may be too much to spend on new technology. In our opinion, the price needs to come down and the technology upgraded to invest our own money on it.

For more information on the Google Clips, please visit Verizon Wireless.

Save The Date! St. Louis Press Club Beauty Buzz Event

Hello Lovelies,

If you live in St. Louis, Missouri or plan to be in area on September 15th, the Beauty Buzz event is a must for you to attend. The charitable event, sponsored by the St. Louis Press Club, raises money for college scholarships for local journalism students. Neiman Marcus will host this year’s event in September at their St. Louis store in Plaza Frontenac. I am honored to be serving on the committee for the first time this year, on behalf of the organization that I work for. Event co-chairs are Sheri Sherman, Faith Berger, Miran Halen and Ellen Soule.

The Beauty Buzz is an opportunity to be a part of our beauty mix, to mingle and will feature a runway event. All to have a little “fun” and and raise some “funds” for media scholarships; and will feature cosmetic and skincare demonstrations and a chance to learn tricks of the trade from the Neiman Marcus experts.

Click HERE to learn more about sponsorship opportunities and chances to win prizes at the event.

And don’t forget, enjoy brunch bites from the Zodiac.

The money raised at the Beauty Buzz event supports many local journalism students with scholarships. What a great way for you to enjoy yourself and help inspire students to achieve their dreams at the same time.

At the meeting in June, the St. Louis Press Club kicked off the Beauty Buzz event.

Ideas For Those Who Want To Feel Beautiful

While there is more to life than looks, everybody wants to feel good about the reflection staring back at them in the mirror. It’s a matter of self-confidence, at the end of the day, and that matters. It’s about improving your mental health. If you aren’t happy with your appearance then you need to do something about that. It’s important, whether you realize it or not. Here are some ideas for those of you out there who want to feel beautiful. We all deserve to feel that way, so it’s time to start valuing yourself.

Focus on your skin.
For many people, confidence issues stem from their skin. They say that acne and other problems go away after your teens, but that isn’t the case for everyone. Some of us experience skin blemishes in our twenties and beyond. Still, there’s a lot you can do to change the appearance of your skin simply by improving your lifestyle. Drinking more water, for example, can hydrate your skin to give it a healthier glow. You might even want to try an anti-ageing moisturizer.

Of course, for some people, the problem is their age. Even if you live a healthy lifestyle, time can be very cruel to the skin. Wrinkles start to form, and the face starts to sag. That doesn’t mean you’re any less beautiful, but it’s understandable that this might knock your self-esteem. However, there are options available to you. You might want to check out these plastic surgery videos if you’re unhappy with the appearance of your face. There are plenty of cosmetic routes you can take to improve the appearance of your skin. Of course, keeping yourself healthy is still important on top of that.

Start sleeping properly.
As mentioned in the previous point, staying healthy is the best way to improve your appearance. This is definitely the case when it comes to maintaining a proper sleeping pattern. Adequate sleep is essential to a healthy lifestyle. If you want to see results from exercising and eating healthy then you need to rest properly. It helps your muscles to repair after a workout, and it keeps your metabolism working properly. Rest really can have a massive impact on your appearance. They don’t call it “beauty sleep” for no reason.

Focus on your fashion options.
Take a look at your wardrobe. What are your fashion options? If you don’t feel happy with your appearance then the issue might be your clothes. For many self-conscious people, this is usually the case. If you lack self-esteem when it comes to your appearance then you might be prone to hiding yourself behind loose-fitting or unflattering clothing. You should be looking for outfits that accentuate your beauty rather than hiding. Well-fitted attire always looks best. Your body shape doesn’t matter – all that matters is making your clothes look tailor-made to your physique. Sometimes, a simple belt around a loose dress (hugging it a little more closely to your sides) can completely transform your appearance.

How To Adapt To Work After An Injury Recovery

Returning to work after sustaining an injury, especially one suffered for some time, can often be somewhat of a renewed shock to the system. It’s easy to forget the usual pace of your working life when you have been apart from it for some time, especially if you have been working hard in jobs since you left school. For some people, this is absolutely the case. When forcibly taking a break, it can often take some time to adapt to the quietness and slow-paced nature of each day. However, the reverse can often be true also, and in this situation, it’s likely you have experienced that for yourself.

Adapting to work after an injury can often be quite hard if you haven’t taken steps to prepare for it. Here are some tips to do just that:

Occupational Therapy
The absolute best requirement for getting back to work in the most complete and sustaining way possible is to visit an occupational therapist, preferably with highly qualified staff, using services such as Motus Rehabilitation. Occupational therapy helps you slowly work towards your new normal, helping to mediate lack of mobilities and the physical stress of conducting work. Even in office jobs, you may be surprised at just how much physical ability you take for granted during periods of wellness.

Occupational therapy is here to help you find and resolve the challenges that you face, and overcome them all, or at least help you manage. Without this, it can be quite easy to fall to inefficient methods of healing or to find the burden of your responsibilities quite a difficult physical challenge each day. Taking the time to work with these professionals, no matter how difficult, can lend you that extra second wind you may just need.

Sleep
Sleep is the most restorative habit we know of, meaning that getting back into work will require plenty of it. Just like starting a new exercise regiment, the mental, spiritual, emotional and physical cost can be quite a shock to the system when you try to adapt to this new, or perhaps old way of doing things. Ensure you get enough sleep each night, and that you wake at a reasonable time each morning. Help yourself wake up full of energy, organized and aware, as this will help lessen the blow of a hard day of work.

Exercise
Exercise may not be a great idea in your current state right now, but it can often help you begin to gain some of your stamina. You may try a small walk before or after work, perhaps even walking a short distance to your work. You could try and purchase resistance bands to help you stretch during breaks at your job, helping you slowly rehabilitate yourself and follow the advice of your occupational therapist. You may even visit the gym after hours and walk on the treadmill, or slowly begin to swim (one of the best exercises as it suspends you in water, just be sure not to exceed a depth you may not be able to deal with.)

Exercise is extremely important to help you slowly regain your strength, but be sure to follow the guidance of your Doctor strictly in this case. Still, if allowed in some quantity, it can help train your body against the physical and mental demands of your job.

Arrangements
Head on regular breaks, and never ask for more work than you can perform. Take it easy. Take it step by step. No one expects you to work overtime for a 14-hour total shift each day right now. Just be honest about what you can offer your employer and your goals for healing and coming back to work in a full capacity. If you have an understanding boss, it’s likely you’ll be able to make arrangements to help you come back to work in a sequence that makes the most sense for you. For example, you might negotiate that you come back to work for a few days a week, or perhaps on a half-day basis. This is just to help you settle into things, to catch up on what you missed, and to begin your routine once more. Not all bosses will allow this to happen, but some might. It can’t hurt to ask. It might just be the thing you need to sustain yourself back into the work schedule once again.

With these tips, adapting to work after a recovering from an injury will be that little bit easier, perhaps just the amount of easier you need.
