Choose Low Carbon Options
There are different levels to self care. Initially, people might think of comfort as being the main goal of a betterment routine. This might lead to using the car for convenience or leaving the heating on unnecessarily. But soon, they realize that self-comfort isn’t the only consideration.

In order for a self-care routine to work you need to develop yourself from the inside. You need to change your physical, mental and emotional health, which means changing your lifestyle. To integrate wellness with your life you may need to ditch the car and buy a bike.

Use Fewer Electronic Devices
Electronic devices have become such an ordinary part of our everyday lives that it’s hard to remember a time when we didn’t use them. But this time did exist, and not too long ago either. There was a time when the world produced far fewer devices and products that adversely affect our health and create unnecessary waste.

When you have an effective self-care routine that involves meditation and mindfulness practice, you are less likely to overuse your electronic devices. This leads to better well-being for you and less waste for the planet. It also means there are fewer radio signals in the air which may or may not be harmful.

Generate Less Waste
When you have a holistic self-care routine you naturally produce less waste. The meditation and mindfulness practices place your focus on how you feel mentally and emotionally. This leads to more awareness of cravings and desires that in the past might have caused you to consume something.

When people are more mindful of themselves they feel better and enjoy their lives more. As a result they consume less food and buy fewer products. Naturally, this has a knock-on effect for the planet. Less waste means fewer carbon emissions and less toxicity in the environment.

Encourages a Degrowth Mentality
The 20th century was characterized by the idea of growth. It was a century when capitalism and consumerism peaked, the economy and major business all adopted an expansionist mentality that meant profiting at the expense of people and the environment.

After a series of global crashes and a worldwide pandemic, along with a popular interest in self-care and mindfulness, the 21st century looks to be more inclined towards degrowth mentalities. This simply means taking what you need from the economy and not superseding your potential.

Live More Consciously
When you adopt a self-care routine that encourages low impact living in favor of fewer cravings and ambitions, but more joy and wellness, you naturally live more consciously and more harmoniously with the planet. This doesn’t mean you can’t still benefit from a Zantac lawsuit lawyer, you just use it more consciously.

When you live a mindful lifestyle your motivations and priorities change. Instead of needing to get somewhere fast, you might happily let someone go in front of you in a line or on the roads, instead of buying processed foods that are expensive you might consciously cook vegetables that are cheaper and more nourishing.

Vice President Kamala Harris: Dressed For Unity

Hello Elegant Readers,

February is Black History month and Vice President Kamala Harris was sworn into office on January 20, 2021. During the Inauguration she wore a striking purple dress with a matching coat  designed by Christopher John Rogers. The striking outfit was accentuated with a custom pearl and gold necklace and earrings created by Wilfredo Rosado. The purple coat had bluish undertones in this picture and makes her complexion glow. In the fashion world  monochromatic is hot and top of the moment. I believe the monochromatic look works well. The purple being vibrant would have clashed with a contrasting print or color. Designer Rogers stated the color symbolized unity which is what the world needs now more than ever and a sign of hope.

Would you wear a monochromatic look?

A monochromatic look has often been considered a fashion faux paw, but now the look is on trend and is considered a classic. It can make a figure look very slimming. And it looks easy but it’s a skill of a great stylist to make this look come off fresh and energized.
