I celebrated with my hubby on his birthday today and he we had a great time. My hubby loves the outdoors so we hiked at the August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area and we just enjoyed the beautiful weather today. Jay was beaming with excitement.
I could not ask for a better man of God in my life. He is the so special and I am so thankful to God for him in my life. He listens to me when I need to talk and is there for me when I need him. This may sound mushy but that is what we do and that is who I am with my hubby. Communication between us is so important and that is why I shout from the rooftops, Happy Birthday Jay. We are celebrating the whole month! September is very important because our wedding anniversary and Jay’s birthday are both during this time of the year.
In the evening we went to Red lobster and had a pretty healthy meal, but had to have some dessert on Jay’s birthday. We really watch what we eat so this was a real treat.
Happy Birthday Jay!
Love you!

I was recently contacted by a representative from J.Jill who wanted to know if I would like to try a pair of its “Tried and True boot-cut” jeans. I said sure because jeans can be a hard fit. Pants can gap in the waist and I always have to tailor them to fit. Well, when I received these jeans in the mail, the first thing I wanted to do was feel the denim material. It is so soft and comfortable. I had not heard of this jean by J.Jill before; but I can see why it was such a favorite by customers.
Not only are the jeans comfortable; but they are also very stylish. This is no mom jean here.
I was really impressed with how they fit and how they did not gap or hug in the areas that I do not want them to. I really like the clean lines of the jean. Also, I like the stretch and recovery in the jeans, it’s not to much cotton lycra spandex. I really like the elongation of the leg that a boot-cut jean gives me.
It is that time of the year where we need to start thinking about holiday parties and special events. Today’s society is very casual, jeans and a dressy blouse can be suitable for a night on the town. I think that is okay; but it is great to kick it up a notch and go with glitz and glamour.
The trend for evening dresses this season is sparkle and shine, bold metallics and bright colors. Off the shoulder dresses can be sexy and chic, but long-sleeve dresses can also be just as hot and over the top as well. Do you have a preference of having your arms shown or not? Confidence exudes when I put on a fancy dress and some heels. Makes me feel like dancing.
The picture of me below was taken before my hubby and I went to our church anniversary. This dress had a lace bodice and hem, so feminine and the gold shoes with the bow was perfect.
I wore a black shawl with my dress just in case I got cold.
I was looking for a dress that would cinch me in at the waist because that is the area that I like to accentuate. Every woman has a part of her body that she thinks looks great so work with that when you are looking for holiday clothing. Also, this dress is a great value to me because I can wear it more than one time. Granted, I would not wear this dress to work; but if I was invited to an event this would be a go-to dress in a heartbeat.
Tips to looking for that perfect dress
Make sure you know your exact measurements. How long has it been since you measured yourself?
Look for bold colors to make a bold statement
Look for gold or silver metallics
Look for a dress that you can wear again to another special event
Look for something appropriate for the event you are going to
Since my wife and I are celebrating our 13th anniversary all month long, I wanted to surprise her with a special outing. Yesterday morning, we hopped into our Jeep Wrangler and headed out on the highway for a road trip. After trekking about forty five minutes out of the great urban metropolis, we arrived at our destination. A secluded wood area off the interstate known as the Endangered Wolf Center.
My wife and I have a strong desire for animal rights and causes. If she could, my wife would turn our home in a refuge for stray dogs and she would be giving to every charity organization to save the panda bears and all the other endangered animals. But that is why I love her so much. She has such a caring and genuine heart to help people and all of God’s creatures.
JT getting ready to see the wolves at the Endangered Wolf Center
We spent yesterday afternoon at the Endangered Wolf Center. We had never been there before and we had always wanted to go. Started back in 1971 by Marlon Perkins, the center is dedicated to helping endangered wolves and other animals from becoming extinct. Back in 1971, there were only five known Mexican gray wolves in the wild. They were brought to this center along with a few that were kept in a zoo. Since that time, the Mexican gray wolf population has grown from less than ten to over three hundred. Many have been reintroduced into the wild, while others in zoos and habitat centers. I was amazed and impressed to see what this center is doing to help save God’s creatures.
A Mexican Gray Wolf, off in the distance
All of the wolves and other animals are securely kept behind two sets of barred-wire fences, for your safety as well as theirs. I was able to photograph the one above from a viewing station with a sight-line above the fences. In addition to the Mexican Gray Wolves, the center is also home to Red Wolves, African Painted Dogs and Swift Foxes.

In a future post, I will talk about how my wife and I adopted one of the wolves and what it means for her future survival. Until then, God Bless and Take Care!
