When I had taken the pictures with this dress, it had rained so much that day. With all the rain we have been getting lately, a pretty dress brings a smile to my face.

Loving this Blue Paisley print in this dress, it’s fresh and so chic. Another added benefit with this dress is that it’s made out of cotton. Since cotton is a natural fiber, it is so breathable in the Summer time, especially on the those hot and humid days.
I bought this dress from Chadwicks.com for $17.00 after all my coupons and discounts. Chadwicks has been a great place to find awesome dresses especially if you do not want to spend a whole lot of money. Most dresses start at $40.00 and the catalogue often come with discount coupons for 10, 20 or sometimes 30 0r 40 percent off your favorite item, bringing the down even more. Yeah, you can say that’s pretty awesome. I know if I would search for a similar dress at Macy’s, it would start at $85.00 or more.

3 Benefits of wearing dresses in the Summer
- Cool
- Cute
- -Comfortable
An added bonus is that the dress is appropriate for all facets of my life: I can wear it to work, to church or on a date with my hubby. I cannot think of a place where I would not wear this dress. I am sure to get my moneys worth and compliments!

This has been such a busy week for me. I have not had an opportunity to post during the last week. Sorry guys. It’s been a busy week with work and church, I have not had much free time. Also, last month, I purchased a new 15 inch MacBookPro. I have been wanting one of my own for while since I have been using one at work for the past five years. I finally had an opportunity to get one for myself and I loved it. Apple has its own photo editing software, Aperture, and I have been playing around with the free trial that was offered. I have spent much of my time watching video tutorials and experimenting with its many features. It is a great software, however there is a learning curve. So far in the 12 days I have had been using Aperture, it is very professional and a level up from Picasa. I still use Picasa occasionally; but I want to see how I can edit my pictures in Aperture and it has proven to be really good. I am still a newbie; but what I see so far, it is awesome.

On to the review
I have wanted to try skin-care products from Michelle Howard, the creator of Blended Naturals for a while. I finally got the chance to place an order earlier in the month. I really love that she is an advocate for natural products that do not contain fake ingredients like methyparaben, propyyparaben, etc. She shares about the evil ingredients on her website. This information is so helpful, because many times we think that are favorite products are great. However, we need to look at the list of ingredients to see if they have any real health benefits.

Blended Naturals
Doesn’t the packaging look so pretty. My package arrived USPS mail in a timely manner.

The Tea Tree and Peppermint foot scrub smells so good. When I took my bath, I mixed the oil with Dead Sea Salts to create the foot scrub and massaged my feet.

My feet felt so soft that I really didn’t need to add any lotion afterwards.

Tea Tree & Peppermint Foot Scrub
I used the Organic Mud soap when taking my bath. It soothed and relaxed my body. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a spa-like moment while in the tub. I purchased the 100% Natural Organic Shea Peppermint Lip Butter. Wow! It was amazing. I need to buy the other five varieties. I am hooked on these lip butters. The peppermint tube will be in my purse from now on. I need to purchase more so I can have one on my nightstand, one at my desk at work, and a couple for backups. Tip: It’s really good to put some shea butter lip butters on your lips at night time because your lips will be so soft and moisturized in the morning.
I had a couple of other items from my purchase that was on back order. They arrived yesterday. I will post a review after I use them. I highly recommend Michelle Howard’s Line of Blended Naturals. Her customer service is wonderful and I really enjoy using her products. Take a look at her website because she has some great products to offer you.

A friend of mine is getting slim (congrats to her!) and asked me to see what I could do with the waistband on her favorite skirt. Well the waistband was far gone. So much so that it had no elastic stretch left in it.
A lot of things happened during the time she gave it to me and I started working on it. So I decided today that I would get to it. I started by cutting out the original waistband because it was serving no use to the skirt at all. I am creative, so the ideas flow and I run with it.

Old Waistband
I folded over the top of the fabric, like sewing a hem on a pair of pants.

Folded over fabric to sew
I did not need to iron because the gauze fabric is so pliable. So I began to sew the waistband of the skirt.

Getting ready to sew the fabric waistband
This is a broom stick skirt. It has a lot of fabric so this took some time to stitch around the circumference of the skirt.
I made sure I left an opening for the elastic to go into. I used the method of a safety pin on the end of the elastic and working the elastic through the opening.

Pulling Elastic through the waistband
After I finished bringing the elastic through, I sewed the opening closed. I moved the fabric around so the gathers were even.
I finished off the skirt by stitching over the waistband to make sure the elastic doesn’t roll.

Finished skirt.
This is a great way to recycle a piece of clothing. It’s a new skirt because by taking off the original waistband I brought the length up a bit and it looks really pretty.
This is a cool tune from Rochelle Jordan. Was listening to this while I was sewing.

Boy it’s hot this week.
It was heat indices of 100 degrees here in Missouri so I was thinking what should I wear to work. I want to look cool and feel cool.
One Bubbling with Elegance and Grace fashion tip is to make sure you wear the type of fabric that works with the climate that you’re in. Where I live, it’s a lot of humid and hot days in the summer so natural fibers or a blend is perfect for me.

The fabric in this sheath dress by Evan Picone is 95% Polyester and 5% Spandex. My doggie is either looking at the squirrel or eyeing the awesome print of the dress. Sheath dresses are a fashion do because I can put on a shirt over this and be completely work appropriate. It is so versatile. If you do not have a sheath dress, then this weekend check out Macy’s because they have great sales and you never know what you may find. This dress was $17.00 and I have had it for almost two years now.
Now you would think … Oh my gosh this is a synthetic fiber, so she must be sweating like there is no tomorrow. Not so! This fabric blend was so comfortable and breathable it was amazing. Also, the dress is not see-through so no need for a slip.
Blends can be so amazingly comfortable and breathable. Polyester has come a long way because I have seen this synthetic fiber woven to look like silk. Having comparisons in fiber is a good thing because we don’t always know how are “natural” fibers are being produced. Technology has really advanced in the fiber industry.
I am getting pretty deep here so let me get back to the outfit post.

Another love of mine is comfortable shoes but I want them to look stylish. These wedges are by Nina. The color is peach but in the sun they are coming across as a tan color. Kinda karma Chameleon effect. I heart them because you get the height without feeling the pain and these shoes have padding in them.
The sun is so bright I hope you can see them.

I really have to take the time to focus on what works for me. I will be going through my closet this weekend.
